Bowtown is situated in lower Himalayas and is unique town. Situated on the banks of river Gandiva, and at foot hills of some fascinating Himalayan hills, Bow town is called as Bow town Because of the shape of the river at this town it makes a complete bow like structure on a side of the town. Bowtown: History-1

Bowtown never had a history written by anyone, but ask any one from chai or paan shops to railway station or the Masjid near old "once upon a time" library building to famous Mandir down the stream, you will get a lot about history of bowtown and its Royal family. Though the histry was never written on papers, never came in a form of books, but it travelled through the generations. History of Bowton starts with Mahabharata, as they say. While goinng towards "Swarg", Arjun, most skilled Pandava and close friend of Lord Krishna left his bow, the Gandiva here. Gandiva was famous bow and Janmejay, the great grand son of Arjun felt its his right to get the bow again to be breave like Arjun. He travelled a lot from Hastinapur to Himalaya where Gandiva was left. Janmejay tried to get the bow but it started to increase in size and soon it was miles long.
